The dog you are seeing in my pictures is Monte. I adopted him from an animal shelter. Monte is certainly a good little dog, although he is curious like a cat and finds himself in weird predicaments. Why he wanted to lay on my desk, I will never know. Perhaps he wanted to help my students out by eating their homework?
WELCOME to my web site!
Please allow me to tell you a little about myself. My name is LeAnn Rust. I grew up in German Valley, Illinois, a small town which is about the size of Scales Mound, located about 52 miles east of here. I attended Forrestville Valley Schools in German Valley and Forreston, graduating in 1979. I received my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Highland Community College in Freeport, Bachelor of Science (Biology Education major, Chemistry Education minor) degree from Illinois State University in Normal, and Master of Curriculum and Instruction degree from National Louis University in Chicago. I began my teaching career in Scales Mound in 1984. I have been teaching here ever since.
Besides my dad, who lives in Freeport, Illinois, my family includes 3 sisters, one brother, 3 brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, 4 nieces, and 2 nephews. I also have a large extended family in this area, so if someone tells you his last name is "Rust," chances are he is related to me! I currently live in Warren, Illinois with my dog and 3 cats.
